We’re so sad to see Food Camp come to an end! The campers have really enjoyed themselves and we’ve learned so much.
We did our animal chores this morning and made sure the animals were taken care of. Not only did we feed them and give them fresh water, but we had fun with them too!
We learned more about Isabella the goat. We noticed her rectangle pupils and talked about the advantages that come with having peripheral vision. We even tested our own peripheral vision!
We got to do something really cool this morning! We made solar ovens out of pizza boxes. We used tools like plastic and saran wrap and we tested our ovens by cooking s’mores! We also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of using solar ovens. How did your camper’s s’mores turn out?
Campers talked about root vegetation volume in the garden. We learned about volume and how different plants need different kinds of space in the garden. Ask your camper about the volume of a potato, radish or turnip!
We also finished up our STEM project! Ask your camper what they did with their cocoa dough today.
Ms Pam made us maple syrup popcorn as a destination snack and it was delicious! The ingredients and directions can be found at the end of this post.
Ms Janelle showed us how to make healthy yogurt during Garden Kitchen! The campers really liked it!
Campers ended the day teaming up with each other and playing Capture the Carrot (flag)!
We’ve had a great week here at food camp and we’re so happy that you shared your camper with us!
