Freshly Picked: Vegetable Salsa

Salsa is the Spanish word for “sauce.” Salsa can be spicy or mild, sweet or sour, and we have been eating it for more than 2,000 years.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tomatoes
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • 1 Tablespoon of ripped Cilantro
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of Garlic, chopped
  • ½ Green Pepper
  • Tortilla Chips

DIRECTIONS

  1. Chop ½ of a tomato
  2. Roll lime on cutting board, squeezing the juice, then cut in half
  3. Take ½ of lime and squeeze juice into red bowl. Watch out for seeds!
  4. Wash cilantro in cool water, then pick off leaves. Chop leaves
  5. Peel onion, wait for onion to be stabilized, then chop in half
  6. Peel garlic, then dice
  7. Cut green pepper in half, then chop

Serve with tortilla chips

  • Cutting Boards
  • Knives for each age group
  • Small bowls
  • 1 Teaspoon & 1 Tablespoon
  • Spatula
  • Food Processor
