Survival Week 1 Day 5

Welcome to the last day of camp!

We had a great week at survival camp!

Meet the green pepper group!

Meet the yellow pepper group!

Meet the orange pepper group!

Meet the red pepper group!

Meet the blue pepper group!

This morning the campers tried out a slack line near the pond. They loved the challenge!

The pepper groups also took turns in garden kitchen. The pancakes and fruit were delicious. Ms. Shea added the raspberries the campers picked in the garden yesterday.
The blue pepper group sang happy birthday to one of their campers!

Here is the recipe for the pancakes:
1 cup of oats
1 cup of rice milk
1 large banana (or 2 small)
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Blend ingredients together in a blender. Heat stove with oil and pour mixture into desired sizes for pancakes. After cooked evenly on both sides, top with fresh fruit and pure maple syrup.

In the afternoon, the campers toured shelters built by other pepper groups. The presenting group explained their material choices and building process. The visiting campers provided positive feedback and suggestions for future shelters.

The visiting pepper groups also used maps to find the other group’s shelters!

Campers enjoyed a wagon ride on some straw late in the afternoon. They sang camp songs and rested after a long walk in the forest.

The campers really enjoyed survival camp this week!
