Hi Campers!
Today was our last day of camp for the summer and we had so much fun!

Campers made solar ovens to cook smores in. The smores cooked all morning and they enjoyed their snack during lunch.
Groups have been creating a farm stand plan all week. They came up with what they wanted to make using fruits and veggies grown at Tollgate, figured out prices and assigned tasks to create their products. Green Peppers made applesauce, Yellow Peppers made potato chips, Orange Peppers made kale salad, and Red Peppers made salsa. Campers were given Tollgate Bucks to purchase treats from each group.
In the afternoon, some groups went out to the garden to pull weeds and then went on a hike through Tollgate’s woods. Campers saw all sorts of cool things from different bugs to interesting looking mushrooms.
During the Food Miles activity, campers figured out how where their food comes from. They put where each of the foods they eat come from on a map and saw how far some of our foods travel to get to us.
Friday at camp is always a smoothie day and Ms. Pam didn’t disappoint with today’s smoothie. For the afternoon snack, they enjoyed a special treat of raspberry thumbprint cookies.
To end this exciting day of camp, campers played capture the flag!
