What Do Trees Need?
This week on the farm, we’re going to investigate what trees need to survive and explore the questions:
- What do trees need to survive and grow?
- How do trees compete with other plants to meet their essential needs?
Today we will observe that trees have needs that help them survive and thrive in their environment. We will also explore what might happen to a tree if these needs aren’t met.
How are people and trees similar? How are we different. By asking these questions we will make important connections to aid in understanding.
Whether you are outside or inside you will be able to explore needs of trees, how they compete to get these resources, how not meeting their needs or getting too much of one of their needs could affect them, and if local trees/plants in your community are getting their needs met.
