It was our last day of camp and it filled with even more exciting activities!
We spent all morning fishing. Some people caught fish but a lot of people caught some seaweed. We even saw a HUGE turtle. Overall, it was a good day on the pond.
Today we made solar ovens! We wanted to see how the sun could be harnessed to cook and explore different types of energy. We used marshmallows and chocolate to cook in our ovens and see the difference in how they melted.
While our solar ovens were busy cooking our marshmallows, we were learning about electrolytes. When we sweat we lose different salts so when we drink sports drinks they replenish those salts. Electrolytes can even mask the taste of well water when animals travel to new locations.
At the end of the day we paraded our flags to the capture the flag field. We hid our flags and had such a fun time searching for each other’s flags.
After our intense game of capture the flag, we relaxed and sang camp songs. Alicia brought her guitar and Kevin helped us with holding up song cards.
Thanks again to all our camp staff! We hope all your campers had a great week and to see you soon!
