Hello Peppers!
Today was our butterfly day and we saw all kinds of butterflies around the farm today!
We spent time learning the differences between moths and butterflies. We read a book then went on a walk to look to find butterflies in the children’s garden.
We went out to the garden to look for more butterflies and pick out plants that they can help pollinate.
In morning garden kitchen we ate like caterpillars and made lettuce wraps with Ms. Katie!
In the afternoon we went on a hike in the back woods to see damage from invasive species. We learned about the gypsy moth and how it damages the native species.
Since we learned about butterflies, we went on a search to find monarch butterfly eggs. We walked around the pond with magnifying glasses to inspect the bottom of milkweed leaves.
In our afternoon garden kitchen we made hummus with veggies!
We had so much fun looking at all the butterflies around the farm today! Rest up so you can have lots of fun at our last day of camp tomorrow.
