Freshly Picked: Homemade Ice Cream

Why go to Dairy Queen when you can make your own ice cream? Let your little peppers show you their shaking skills as they shake the ice cream ball to freeze the ice cream.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of skim milk
  • 2 cups of half & half
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¾ cup of rock salt
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Fresh mint leaves

DIRECTIONS

  1. Fill container with ice
  2. Measure rock salt and pour into ball
  3. Measure 1 cup of skim milk and pour into bowl
  4. Measure 1 cup of half & half and pour into bowl
  5. Measure 1 tbsp of vanilla extract and pour into bowl
  6. Measure ¾ cup of sugar and pour into bowl
  7. Measure 2 tbsp of sugar and pour into bowl
  8. Mix cream together and pour into canister for ball

  • Ice Cream Ball
  • Rubber spatula
  • ¼ cup measuring cup (2)
  • tbsp measuring spoon
  • Large bowl
  • 1 cup liquid measuring cup
